Yes the Soarer is in the body shop for the following,
Full respray still FSG(All battle damage removed) replacement wing.Yes Mike finaly got round to it!( glad I won't watch him trying to line up the door and wing though!)
Undersealed(no rust anywhere except some surface stuff where a towbar would be mounted)
Wheels are going gloss black with existing chrome trims
Side and headlights refurbed(thanks dazzav8 when its back I will do as you have.)
Full Valet.

Not really driving much due to both Jenny and I having health issues but I had to nip out in her 2.2 Prelude Vtec. Quick but chalk and cheese come to mind. Still both cars stay with us (barring accidents) whatever the cost.

Paul

hi paul i would love to have mine resprayed but the cost i just cant justify and the fact of not making me mind up on a colour its currently fsg but yellow is my fav car colour , the best two things i have done to improve my lights have got to be the hid upgrade and the fitting of glass main beam lights

Car is back and looks the business all ok except the front O/S indicater does not work. Had a quick look. How the hell do you get to the bulb? Could be as simple as a lead not replaced or the bulb has given up as the light has been out when the wing was fitted or when the lens was sanded, polished and sprayed with a UV coating. Not able to get back to the chap who did the job for a week as he has taken his kids on holiday for half term!

Airbox side. What also worries me ia they are after market lights with 3 pretty blue lights on the top and three chrome shades? when the indicator lights are what bulb will fit.(as you probably know I am severly disabled so I have a neighbour who will have a go at it for me)
Thanks for your reply
Paul

Result! he pushed a lead under the slam panel and it worked. Next problem polisher marks all over the car when in sunlight. He said it is polish that not been washed off properly. A good shampoo and wash will do it
I hope he is right as he is going to have to do that.
Last problem when the cars primer was rubbed down it must have got under the door handles and boot spoiler
It is running down the bodywork.Yes it will wipe off but you know my situation so I cannot clean the car myself especially with the "Beast from the East" coming.I was also told not to wax the car for a month over fresh paint. So with a layer of brown dust and the above it looks wonderful. Did I mention the door locks? no? they are now FSG!

Update

Day 1
I had my Soarer repainted last month(same colour Frog Sh.t Green) plus replacement front wing(supplied by me) dent in drivers door repaired and rear bumper plastic welded all OK so far. Then when I got it back of a transporter after dark I paid £1500 in cash for the job. The next day it was raining and I was ill and Jenny had had a nasty head injury so apart from polish in the panel joins I did not go near the car for 5 days then it was frost and snow. I then had to go out in it and found the offside indicator was not working.I took it back and as luck would have it the reflections on the bonnet was a mass of swirls. "No problem said the jolly sprayer it where it has not beem polished off properly wash it in AutoGlym and they will dissapear but don't use polish for a month" Well I got Waves the local car wash to do this and of course they have not gone any more than the strange reflections on the side panels when the sun puts in an apearance. OK maybe if he mops and polishes it that will be OK.The thing that concerns me most is about 30 little digs in the middle of the bonnet in random places which show the primer. All I can surmise is when the primer was rubbed down particles were left before the 3 further stages were applied and came off with the DA during the process?
This guy came highly recommended as the paintshop manager of a BMW dealer for many years so that is why I used him.

Day2

I took it back and showed him. He sprayed some polish over it and it showed a multitude of horrors that I had not noticed. It looked like a bad case of measels. He could not have been more sorry and said he had noticed some splits whe he flatted it back prior to painting and wondered if a reaction might happen. Result is the car is going back in about 3 weeks the bonnet is coming off and a bare metal respray is being done. Result for now.

To be continued...........

Paul
