i am having the wheel arch sorted on my passenger side wing, today i got a call from the body shop would i like to look at the wing now it was off the car, only took it in last night, the paint had been stripped off there was virtually no rust to be seen in/on the steel, it would appear that the water had got between the steel and the paint via the wheel arch edging strip and just caused a long scab in the paint, so in effect there is only a little work required to put it right, my spare wing is now surplus to requirements, but will probably have it tarted up just in case it may be needed at some time. The boot lid had been stripped with the bottom right corner having been repaired, it would seem at some time in the cars life this had been bent, holes hade been drilled in it to pull it straight but not filled in again causing rust to form this has now been rectified. All the repaired panels are being treated as new panels and by this evening all will be primed ready for finishing.

Picked the car up sat morning, all done, very good job at a very reasonable price, great colour match , the one problem i do have now is the nearside light unit has internal condensation since it was removed and replaced to enable the removal of the wing.I will have to see if this can be rectified if not a new light unit will be in order. I can recommend the guy who did it, not my usual body shop as they have moved away to bigger premises on the other side of tewksbury, i like local places i can pop into and see whats going on and being done.

I agree - I like to pop into my local body centre AND SEE WHATS HAPPENING (Clive at Autobody centre here in Isleworth - as we have 5 cars at home - not all mine! - we get the odd scrape or dink - he sorts them, cleans them, and lends you a set of wheels FOC - top banana!)
